Gear Check / Results – Shift 2
This crew is split into two separate functions – five of the crew members will move to the Results Tent right outside The Commons at 4th and Washington while the three crew members will remain in the Gear Check area.
Participants will have brought their gear bags to the tent earlier in the day – marked with their race number. Volunteers from the first shift will have sorted all of the bib numbers and put them in numerical order. Bags will then be handed back to participants coming to claim their bags after their race. Participants are required to show their race bib to claim their gear bag.
Those in the Gear Check Tent will greet participants who have finished their event and return to them their gear bags when they show you their race bib with their bib number. (Race Bibs are required to give back a gear bag.)
Those moving to the Results/Awards Tent will provide “instant results” to participants – a very cool feature! There will be five printers with a volunteer at each one. Participants walk up and give their bib number, you enter the bib number in the computer and hit print, and their race results are printed instantly. If they won an Award it is shown on their print out so you give them their award on the spot! If they Qualified for the Boston Marathon, this will also be included in their printout!
